Artist's Statement
House, Hold is new body of work collaborating with my wife, Jackie, during shelter-in-place. Together we make a new photograph every day for the month of May looking at how we negotiate home, our roles, and power dynamics in this time. Since 2018 I’ve been collaborating with others on a series New Domesticity where I’ve been making photographs of what home looks like current day. Since I’m unable to continue that work I decided to turn the camera inward on my own home and to examine all that is quirky, vulnerable, and beautiful within our relationship and home. It also becomes a visual representation of queerness in the domestic sphere.
