Artist's Statement
The second painting in a series highlighting the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs). This piece is focused on SDG #5: Gender Equality, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. "When" is a symbolic illustration of the frustration and exasperation felt by women of all backgrounds, and their allies, on the pace of gender equity progress. It is dedicated to all those who are, have been and will be negatively affected by purposeful or unconscious gender bias.
