Artist's Statement
"Beyond The Veil" investigates those experiences in nature where one encounters something so amazing as to be transformational. These moments can feel otherworldly, sublime, transcendent, powerful, even bewildering, and they call us to step out of our ordinary way of experiencing the world into something extraordinary, inviting us to connect to something greater than ourselves or see ourselves as an integral part of that something greater. These experiences can happen anywhere, but here it is in a 20 million year old redwood forest on California’s western edge, a place often bathed in enshrouding mists where many of the residents are hundreds, if not thousands of years old.
