Artist's Statement
I found some old accounting ledgers full of weathered, softened grids, and was inspired to make this work. I cut rectangles from the pages, glued them to the canvas, and added paint, graphite and ink to link the shapes and create a structure. Piecing together a more personal, imperfect grid helps me feel contained and calm.
