Artist's Statement
As a child I remember standing at Ocean Beach looking out at the horizon wondering what was out there beyond what I could see. The Steinhart Aquarium was my second home when I was young, too. I loved it there, so dark and mysterious and full of wonderment. Growing up in the 1970s I was inundated with adventure and monster movies that I enjoyed immensely. All these things greatly influenced my imagination and curiosity.
These experiences as a youngster have greatly shaped who I am as an adult. I still love adventure, monsters, and old aquariums.
This work, Lost Continent of Many Weird Monsters reflects this and is a testament to the importance of imagination and curiosity within my life.
