Now, now, now... it’s definitely got to be the fleeting atmosphere and ambience I felt surrounding the swimmer that propelled me to create “Pondering On The Edge.” The play of contrasts in the harsh sunlight and dark shadows, as well as the hot air and cool water, capture this essence. It adds to the mystery of the swimmer in repose. What is she thinking as she rests at the edge of the pool?

I have painted off and on during my life. After majoring in Design & Industry at SFSU, with an emphasis in Graphic Design, I worked as a graphic designer for 35 years. These days I focus on painting full time and never fail to see interesting images in the ordinary, which I set out to capture through painting. It has always been intriguing for me to transform unpredictable, squishy paint into vivid, powerful and impactful images.
