Artist's Statement
Ataraxia is a blissful, peaceful state of mind. Many people who meditate aim to achieve a state of ataraxia, a state of freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety. In ancient Greece, the Epicureans most famously sought the state of ataraxia, which they considered to be true happiness. This piece is inscribed with meditative and happy thoughts.
