Artist's Statement
A camera provides the opportunity to document the moment, sometimes unique and sometimes inexplicable. “Foggy Reveal” is the result of just such a moment. The photograph was taken at Peacock Gap Golf Course, San Rafael CA in May of 2020 on hole #3 during the early days of the pandemic. I was able to take advantage of an exquisite sunrise, the sun rising and burning off the early morning fog and dew. I was witness to this moment and with more than fifty years behind the “lens” was prepared to capture the image using the iPhone I keep in my pocket. The technology of photography continues to develop through radical and unpredictable transformations, but the art of the capture remains in the control and vision of the photographer; this is where the magic starts.
