Artist's Statement
My work is a conversation between the natural landscape of Northern California and the landscape of internal states of being. Resistance, openness, contraction, expansion, these occur both within us and outside in nature. What most interests me is the dialogue between these two worlds.
"Granite Shore" is a reference to the edge of understanding— there is a hardness and rocky nature to parts of our inner world, but also a vast expanse beyond these fissures and coves.
