Michelle Sindha Thomas is an artist and writer whose award-winning work contributes to international collections. Thomas studied literature, drawing, painting, design, film, and art history, all culminating in a publication titled And Others: Pursuit of Individuality in Minority Creative Expression 1984-Present. She works as an artist, arts educator, and creative consultant to diverse collaborators—from musicians and fashion designers to a clean energy finance advisory to a natural farm and winery.

"My fine art practice explores memory, interpersonal dynamics, and identity. The de Young Open exhibition engages artists to reflect on the theme ‘On the Edge,’ which I read as a comment on our collective state of mind. This watercolor painting depicts the historical, bicultural, Zipporah and Moses as a modern couple in which a strong and emotional man draws strength from an equally dynamic woman in a time of deep uncertainty."
