Artist's Statement
Through my ongoing Still Life series of Art-About-Art, many times the subject-matter will invoke an art reference. The metal pitcher in the composition kept reminding me of the 18th Century, French artist Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin. An artist that I have frequently viewed and admired his work. As the painting progressed there was a need to find an appropriate book title. With Chardin as a visual reference, the title became obvious.
