Artist's Statement
Having missed many interesting images because I wasn’t carrying my large camera, I invested in a one-inch sensor Sony compact camera. I do not have a smart phone and my flip phone takes miserable photos. Luckily, I had my small camera with me when this gentleman appeared, at a Café where I was having lunch with a friend. I had seen virtual reality gear before, but not to this extreme. He truly was in an alternate reality as I was less than ten feet from him when I snapped a series if pictures. I believe he was totally unaware of me. I replaced the mundane Café background with a texture shot I had taken that I thought was more apropos of his ‘reality’. Steve Napoli
