Artist's Statement
What started as a painting highlighting the beautiful chaos of living in San Francisco evolved into a painting representing the transitions we go though in life. Using color to build a conversation, the textural moments used to reflect the diverse and festive culture of the city double as a way to emphasize how we change and grow as individuals. The composition causes the colors to fluctuate based on lighting, showing how life changes when viewed from different perspectives. This sensory expression showcases the layers that comprise our lives and the transitions our city has gone through.
