Artist's Statement
It all started with the idea to make an enigmatic portrait of a woman. The woman who is present yet not accessible. Somewhere behind those sunglasses, her eyes are focused away from the viewer. It’s as if she hardly knows that we are here even as we want to catch her attention.
The form of this painting is sparse yet enriched with enough detail to give a sense of a real person behind the glasses.
