Artist's Statement
The California coast can be wild with pounding surf but this particular day was calm and peaceful and inviting. There is something intriguing about reflections on water – kind of like staring at a fire in the fireplace – that calls and mesmerizes each of us. When I have created a reflection on canvas, I see that people respond in a wonderful way. To capture that movement and reflectivity ignites peoples’ imaginations, and probably good memories of time spent by the water. Peaceful Coast is a visual form of meditation.
