A N G E L A J O H A L THE STARS COLLIDE NO. 2
It is early January, 2020, the stars sound as they collide. The bold, emotive, colorful circular bands vibrate as they radiate toward the center where one larger star appears. A celestial change has occurred.
Music accompanies me when I paint. The senses converge to create a chromesthetic experience on the canvas which may evoke a visual sound, where new and unpredictable colors emerge intuitively. The spiraling rhythm carries the viewer about and to pause along the broken colors where halo effects glow along the edges to create a calming effect.
Geometric designs occur in most of my work which easily speaks to all ages, races, nations and cultures. They can be easily understood and very complicated at the same time. Geometric shapes are a balance between the world that is visible and the world that is invisible. They reach beyond what the eye can see.
