Artist's Statement
I travel to some remote places that reveal life struggles and hard-won successes.
Here in Idaho on a vast plain of lava flows, atop a cinder cone, in a seemingly uninhabitable environment,
I find a beautiful tree. It's purported to have lived more than a century, perhaps longer; and its pose,
offers a delight to the soul:
This is where I live
There is lonely beauty here
that moves me to dance
