Artist's Statement
This pandemic portrait expresses my sadness, anger, confusion and depression caused by Covid-19. This pandemic has affected us all. For my part all my shows and international residencies have been cancelled. I created this piece in my home artist residency after weeks of sheltering-in-place. My goal was to turn this difficult time into an opportunity to further my journey as an artist. For this painting I used large palette knives to create depth, layers and textures. This piece is a reflection of myself and fellow Americans who are also enduring the pain and suffering created by this pandemic..
