Once we accept there are no absolute realities, how do our internal worlds create the real world around us? We can recognize that in the modern world, images, like language, fabricate realities nonstop, including how we construct our very identities and personalities. And yet everything we experience outside ourselves takes shape through the filter of our internal lens. It is the dance between our inner narratives and the external productions of the OTHER that gives rise to our unique voice.

Photographic self-portraits capture this dance as a statement of unique identity and story. In essence, self-portraits become a dialog to one’s internal self as well as a communication to others outside the self.
