Artist's Statement
As a painter Cynthia Correia relates to her work on an emotional level. She strives to invoke a emotion in the viewer. Her background in color and design was influenced by her career as a builder. She chooses to paint dimensionally on wood using bold colors, graphic shapes and depth to draw the viewer in. With her painting “The Softer Side of Me” she uses a softer pallet showing her vulnerability. She uses a notch with red paint to let you know she is watching your reaction and is excited to draw you in.
