Artist's Statement
BODY, SEWN is a part of my ongoing self-examination/reflection series. For this work, I used a common flatbed scanner to record portions of myself piece by piece. I then took those individual pieces and sewed them back together. The result is a visual distortion, but a true representation of how I sometimes feel about myself. The process and result were an attempt to work out questions I struggle with about personal identity and purpose in life.
