Artist's Statement
I consider myself to be a landscape historian. 'Birds on a Wire', also known as 'Standing in the Flood', is one such painting.
It was a crisp December morning, during a recent flood year. The fog was slowly rising from the surface of the Laguna de Santa Rosa, some blocks from home. By creating this painting, how many more generations will have the opportunity to share in this intimate moment in nature and time.
