I love color and texture! The high emotions, the low emotions, the exuberance associated with luscious color palettes drive me wild.
I have explored many materials and themes, but it is always me, my voice, my vision, at the helm. I look to painting to create new challenges to myself to keep me going. I guess that is what it is about for me, creating new challenges, going ever more abstract in my painting style.
And yet the same principles in my work continue to be important to me, the composition, the placement of shapes, the dialogue between hard edges and soft, the picture plane, the layering of elements. These are the kind of concerns I address in my work.
