Artist's Statement
Water is a central focus in my art. Interpreting the nature of water, although realistic, requires an understanding of the components of abstraction.
When painting 'Water Weeds II', my purpose was to "see" into the shallow depths while "seeing" onto the surface lights and shadows, thus capturing the layers of water in a completely realistic manner, yet producing a decidedly abstract statement.
