Artist's Statement
"The Space Between Us" considers the delicate balance of maintaining a trusting relationship with other people. Ladders, as symbols, indicate reaching for greater heights, something (someone) just out of reach or a precarious balance.
Here, there is a co-operation of sorts. In order to maintain equilibrium each person must do their part or the situation collapses.
The small blue and yellow triangles, top & bottom, refer to night and day.
The painting is to be hung vertically but conceivably can be hung with either figure at top (0 or 180 degrees)
