Artist's Statement
I was inspired to create a series of these highway drawings by some of my earliest childhood memories of looking through a windshield at the night lights shwooshing towards and past us as we sped down the road. I think it is a very American, and in particular, Californian memory. The experience of night driving on a highway or freeway still takes on for me feelings of loneliness, but also a feeling of freedom and creativity.
