Artist's Statement
At the onslaught of the pandemic I painted a series of portraits of my co-workers facing the unknown and the unprecedented, not knowing what direction fate would turn and how next day might bring. What used to be close and warm interactions among colleagues and with patients became chill and distant, forced apart by PPEs and new rules and even fear. Those were days of countless new needs and new challenges, and then slowly one sees sliver of hope, like the beams of light bounced around in the isolation rooms.
