Artist's Statement
This painting came to me while sitting on some rocks next to a lake in the High Sierras. I marveled at the colors of the algae-covered rocks on the edge of the water. The soft movement of the shallow water, while washing over these rocks brought forth these beautiful light reflections. I had to take this moment home with me and capture it on canvas. Painting these subtle movements of the water had its challenges. I wanted to keep it vibrant in colors and alive with movement.
It turned out yummy; and it is now one of my favorite paintings.
