Artist's Statement
I created this piece during the Covid 19 pandemic. My Father - In - Law contracted the virus and our nation was in a crisis unlike anything I had seen. I thought about what our world looked like at this moment from an outside perspective. I thought about the many plights we face on this planet and created the art as a kind of prayer and meditation. The subject I chose is actually in reference to a picture that the Juno Mission took of Jupiter. I added figures that can be seen from a distance. The three figures evoke concepts in Catholicism, The Holy Trinity, The Messiah, the Virgin, and the Apostles. It also evokes other stories such as the 3 spinners of norse and greek mythology who weave the destiny of man. Amongst these ideas, I hope the viewer gains a feeling of self reflection for the state of our world.
