Artist's Statement
“Pollock’s Paint Supply” is a light hearted addition to my faux vintage neon series and it was built in 2018. The other pieces in the series deal with topics ranging from Nuclear War, Global Warming and Internment Camps.
At the top of the sign four cans of Devo paint ( Pollock’s favored enamel) animate paint spilling. In my alternative history, Pollock’s parents owned a paint store, and this sign gave him the idea for flinging paint.
Built all new from scratch, then painted and aged to look like it is from the 1930’s.
