Artist's Statement
Sisiphus’s plight reeks of what it is to be human. The up and down of the rock is reminiscent of the in and out of breath, the back and forth of conversation, and on a macro plane, creation and destruction. I made the rocks vivid and lively, while the hands are vaguely cyanotic. I am interested in the secrets and stories of inanimate objects, and wanted to put the life in the song as opposed to the singer.
