Artist's Statement
“Out on Moraga” is the companion piece to “Moraga Sunset.” It’s from almost the same vantage point as the other painting but at mid-day rather than dusk. The Deco, the pastels, the sharp shadows—it’s enough to make you holler, “Sunset Rules!” but we won’t cuz it’s a museum. And again, the edge of the world beckons and the surf just might be up.
