There is nothing in human life and nature that does not change or evolve. Some transformations are good, some not, others strange, unknowable, unpredictable. I am interested in forms from human, animal and the natural environment that are one thing in one moment but something else in the next. The forms remain related and seem frozen or in the act of becoming different. A shape can have texture, color, and movement which can ease into or be forced into a different shape with new characteristics. Not only is the idea of evolution important but also the overall sculpture must be interesting both visually and conceptually. I work to achieve these ideals to create successful art.
