Painting “Lola and the Construction”, I became immersed in the many livelihoods around me and within my own space. I watched people outside by the beach come to their destination to watch and wonder, be with themselves or another as a part of something greater. My company was my observation, process and production. My contemplation of surrounding chaos became a product of decision and change, unfolding my inner visual exploration. A web of mark makings collectively formed from which the abstract emerged. I explored inside the changing territory of the painting, drawing from re-presented memories and in pareidolia of shapes. My selective vision changed and taught me about my previous and next choice. Interacting with the energy system in and around me became an exergy of marks. Observing behaviors in others and myself became a language for me to communicate with through color, material choice and movement.
