Artist's Statement
The artist, Eduardo del Rio, here sought to illuminate the metaphor of the ocean for human existence. You can find yourself lost in the characters of the painting and experience an individual metamorphosis. The big fish eats the little fish and the little fish in the big pond. Represented as the existential angst that we all feel, within this aquatic realm we find the humor juxtaposed to the harshness. Which fish are we? Predator or prey? Vertebrate or invertebrate? Host or Parasite? Regardless, we all must keep swimming.
