Artist's Statement
“Bia II” is an assemblage of woven hand cut drafting film that I have drawn on with colored pencil and graphite and then mounted on acid free paper. This work is inspired by the Goddess Bia who personifies a feminine power force. In this work, I wanted to create a symbol of healing energy in the face of the pandemic. The drafting film curls in circular forms to indicate wholeness and infinity that cannot be broken. The color selection is meant to activate and energize. My artistic practice is my form of magic that reveals the sacred within myself.
