Artist's Statement
My work expresses my anxiety about the effects of manmade climate change on the environment while contending with my culpability in the destruction as a consumer. This piece was created from hundreds of pieces of hand cut paper in response to the devastating bush fires in Australia. The collage imagines the appropriation of the tragic images of koalas begging for sips of water for slick advertising campaigns.
