Artist's Statement
Each panel in this collection is a page from a journal I kept during the first 100 days of shelter-in-place in San Francisco. The work started not as an art piece but as a way to record and share some of my experiences. The reactions I received reflected how the drawings convey a sense of hope and serenity, despite the consequences brought by the pandemic. These 15 panels were selected to represent a range of impacts and responses throughout the city, while illustrating the slow evolution from full closure to gradual reopening.
