Mexican Terra Firma #2
Two-Dimensional Wall Art > Fiber (Linen)
48 x 28 x 1.5
This piece portrays and analyzes humanity's role in shaping the earth's typography during the Anthropocene through patterns created from repetitive reconstructions of the Earth's landscape. Inspired by flights from the Bay Area to my grandmother's Mexican homeland, this textile portrays a landscape, in which the hand-drawn screen-printed illustration with embroidered details is a representation of civilization's effect on Earth's topography. Eucalyptus natural dye, linen cotton embroidery thread, water-based screen-printing pigment.
