Artist's Statement
Compositionally similar to “Alex”, however the model was staged in studio. The second in the series, “Elan” demonstrates a broader palette range and heavier texture. Contextually, I was inspired by the novel Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami, wherein an idea can hide in plain view and manifest in reality, often inconveniently.
