Artist's Statement
“Convivium: Part 1” is a nascent exploration, an as yet unmet quest for joy and beauty within of the network of human relationships and a questioning of the societal structures that bind us and confine us. The inspiration and motivation for the piece was to try to understand abstractly the intricacies of community structures that I also work with more concretely as a landscape architect working in the public realm. It is entitled Part 1 as I had the intention of creating a series of pieces that explore different aspects of the same theme.
