Artist's Statement
I was motivated to make this piece in response to our current president and his policies that are against humanity. When I see his actions in the courts, I have to respond . It's my responsibility to stand up and speak out. For all those who are silenced . The painting-drawing grid structure allows me to address issues of voting rights, white supremacy ,LGBTQ, education, opioid addiction, standing rock, Syria . The center panel depicts a scene of an opulent dinner feast . The truck Juxta Mercedes, the house trailer in a rural town showing the present day disparity in America. America is a great country, but this is also who we are.
