Artist's Statement
I was motivated to make this piece to address issues of our current president and past presidents policies on immigration and health -care in America. Covid19 is still raging. Why are some Americans unwilling still to wear a mask to save other Americans. The drawing-painting grid structure allows me to speak about these issues of kids at the border in cages and to make the connection of the other Americans who were Japanese and forced into concentration camps in the 1940's. To show the past and where we are now with immigration . It is my hope we all think deeply who we really are as a country and what we want America to be moving forward.
